I have a rather vast variety of interest when it comes to roleplay. However, I usually try and incorporate romance into the roleplay. I adore it, and I'm a romantiholic and can admit this without shame.
I also like to incorporate gore, violence, action, drama, and suspense into each roleplay. I don't do any sort of one on one fighting roleplays. I suck, so I refuse to make effort in doing so. I dislike the fact that no matter what happens, somehow or another there is some form of godmodding being done somewhere.
So those are my interests when it comes to roleplay. You should all make a thread to tell your own interests!

I'm an attention whore.
I've created several characters and I wish to show them to the world. My goals are both to test them and refine them. When I write I know their reactions by heart and deciding what that character would do in a situation is second nature. That leaves the other half of writing involved: creating the situation.
While I agree with my Twin that many fights turn into childish games of simply stating one's self stronger, I love fights. However I prefer a hybrid of 70% story 30% action and violence as opposed to a plot-less arena fight. When I fight I see more purpose in expressing a character than I do in satisfying any false conclusion that its a competitive sport.
In the past arena fights I tried to incorporate an audience and get more people involved than simply the one vs one fight without aiding one unfairly. Perhaps its my opinion, but nothing should be written for entertainment unless it's to make an audience feel something. An announcer and lively reacting audience I believe take something bland and give it life.
Personally I think people who fail to see that its imbalanced or get off on a sense winning are just ignorant, however fighting is a crucial part of a successful story and I like to incorporate it with the fullest of my creativity and skill.
As far as romance goes I'm not an addict but it definitely has its place in stories and influencing the decisions characters make.
All and all, if I was to wrap my writing up into one simple conclusion, my purpose is and always has been to entertain.

I have to agree with dearest Baiken. I am simply a romantiholic and I cannot survive without it. I'm your typical definition of Aquarius almost to a T. I do love drama in a roleplay, gore and torture make their mark, and fighting... well, this is where we differ.
You see, even if I'm not good at fighting rp, I'm much better than I used to be. And I was a horrid godmodder when I started roleplaying(come on, you have to admit we all start out that way).
But I agree with Shale. Fights need to have a place in a storyline, else they're just mindless tests of strength and nobody gets anything out of them(or so Kenpachi would beg to differ)!!
I try my absolute best to do platonic friendship rps, but they are extremely hard for me to plot for and I find them utterly dull.
Though I suppose that is the fault of my rp mentor. He never did find it in his interests to teach me the friendship side of rp(he was much too busy helping to teach me how to smut in the long run).
But I have to commend him. He gave mea large vocabulary, taught me how to write, and held me up when I failed.
That was always important.
